Daisy’s Painting Adventures
coming soon…
Author’s note
I was inspired by a story my late father-in-law, Tommy Gadston, wrote for his family in the 1970s.
He called it Daisy’s Painting Adventures, and he never published it.
It is an absolute joy, using today’s technology, to bring his colour-soaked vision of magic portals, new friends and helpful, problem-solving adventures to life for a new generation.
This series is for him.
And for my grandchildren in Switzerland, who started it all.
– Rainie
These books celebrate creativity, imagination and friendship to help Daisy believe in herself and her paintings, no matter how messy.
Story synopsis
Age range 4-7 years
When Daisy paints anything can happen…
Every story begins in Miss Friday’s class with a painting, a magic portal and ends before the paint dries. In her first adventure, the carousel horses have lost their hay, the clown can’t keep up, and the paint is drying fast — Can you and Daisy find which colour helps solve the mystery in time?
Made for read-aloud time and children who love art. Ideal for home, school, and library story time. Colour-soaked adventures painting their way across the kingdom, the cosmos and the deep blue sea.
Simple practices
Our stories are made to be enjoyed first — to make children laugh, wonder, imagine and want to turn the page. But behind every adventure is something small to take away: a new idea, a little more confidence, a different way of looking at the world, or simply the joy of discovering something for themselves.
Lasting impact
We want children to love books.
Because when a child falls in love with reading, they don't just discover more stories. They discover bigger worlds, new possibilities — and a little more of who they might become.
Made for read-aloud time and children who love being creative.
